Tricia: "It’s hard to express in words how amazing Marcela was as our doula during the birth of our first child, Malcolm. I was frightened about the birth from the day I found out I was pregnant. Marcela stayed with me through my entire long labor at my house, and she talked us through some hard decisions at the hospital. She is so good at calming and nurturing. I don’t know how we would have done it without her."

Cinco: "It would have been a much scarier event had Marcela not been with us. I feel like she saved me! I was so nervous I forgot everything I learned in childbirth classes, so I was much more secure knowing that she was there with us and she knew hospital procedures well."

Shari: Although my son’s birth was in a birthing center and my husband and the midwives were with me throughout the labor and delivery, I couldn’t have made it through without Marcela’s support. She was with us for nearly 24 hours through a very long labor and was constantly encouraging and positive. In addition to her emotional support of both me and my husband, she massaged me throughout my labor. When my confidence waned in the early morning hours, she remained strong and confident for me. We had the natural birth I wanted and I am so appreciative of Marcela helping to keep me focused on that outcome.
